Hi,
the Gigaom-Plugin didn’t work for me. If you want to use Sphinx, you have to install a Sphinx server on your webspace which is quite easy. But I didn’t manage to bring this plugin to work. So I tested another one: “WordPress Sphinx Search” by Invinco. It works just fine and brings a very good documentation with it 🙂
