Ah hah…. that’s what’s meant by a child theme. I thought it meant it would have muppets and smurfs on it….

One more question – When I’m building the new theme do I have to go through the “add” process for every image again, or can I bring over the selections from my previous theme?
My site is image heavy and contains no blog style content.

Resolved by deleting site, scrubbing server and starting over. Wasn’t to deep in so not a big problem.
Still don’t know the cause, but all’s well that ends well.
