I guess my only other question at this point is whether my website is exposed to a significant risk in the interim, between now and when I can get that in-person assistance. That is, as long as I don’t go onto the Edit Themes page myself (and I’m the only one with administrative access), it should be ok, right?

I’ve downloaded Notepad – Simple Txt Editor. Then I googled to find a bit more detailed explanation of how to do what you suggest. I think I’ll wait until I can get some in-person help from someone who understands your instructions more clearly than I do, rather than risk screwing it up and crashing my website. Thanks for the information, though.

Thanks Tara. Unfortunately, I don’t really know how to do what it’s telling me to do, and as I implied in my initial post, I’m basically code phobic. That’s why I have no intention of messing with the code on the “Edit themes” page and want to disable it. But if this the only way to undo my clicking the “enable” button for this page, could you please tell me how to get to wp-config.php and exactly where to insert define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true); And, do I actually insert all of the text, starting with define and ending with the semicolon?
    Thanks again.
