  • Hello, I’m on WordPress 3.8 running the Twenty Eleven theme. I don’t know when it happened–I update my plugins and themes at irregular intervals, probably going no longer than a month, and when I do I update all–but about a week to 10 days ago, I was going to change a widget title value to the current month… and I pull up the dashboard/appearance/widget page then NOTTT! The configurable widget screen was gone.

I believe a list of my current active widgets has been retained on the page in the boxes, but none of the boxes are draggable or editable. I no longer have a layout on the page of my sidebars so basically my widget configuration page has died. It’s not functional. Most of the widgets are still functioning–except for the ‘Cloud’ widget–on my page http://brianrwright.com/CoffeeCoasterBlog/. Naturally, I would like to be able to change and edit my widgets.

    Can anyone help me?

I’m not afraid to get into the code, but I never have and don’t really know where it lives. [One of the occupational hazards of having a Web interface that is so intuitive and generally reliable that for most sites hardly does one ever need to tinker at the code level.]
