I’ll take a look on this library, but you can allays create a new plugin that change Laika’s behavior, so you can update it.

A possibility to show the children of a pet on the page of pet: Yes good idea, and somewhat easy to incorporate.
An Option to enable automatic ID: I’ll have to thing about this one, cause it may make things more complicated.
About the possibiliti to add further custom fields: At the moment I’ll won’t add more custom fields, there is already a field where you can add information.
By the way, what you recommended of litters is a very good idea. In fact I’m developing a new plugin that will be compatible with this one. “Felicette Pedigree Litters”, it will be up probably in less than a week + the time wordpress admins take to accept it.

Then there you code it as you like (copying the code from the layout you like from your theme if already exists somewhere on your theme, or editing the default one striping away the sidebar).

The plugin has been updated.
laika_pt_theme.php doesn’t exist anymore. Can you check If the bug still persist? I’ve changed how the plugin displays the content so it’s very possible it doesn’t happen anymore, although I was unable to reproduce the bug.Forum: Plugins

It’s very interesting the idea and I really want to make a plugin that solve pet breeders websites so I’ll be looking on that after the update.
Are you a webmaster for a breeder or how are you related with this business?

In reply to: [Laika Pedigree Tree] Broken looplaika_pt_theme.php will probably be removed in the new update cause no longer will be necessary, so don’t spend a lot of time tweaking it (although you’ll be able to create a custom page for the content type). I’m recoding everything cause there are too much bugs and I’m positive I’ll be able to publish the new version very soon.
About the litter of every pet is a good idea, at the moment I won’t implement new features till it works great. But I’ll put it in my TODO list (as puting a thumbnail and making available more generations).
What exactly do you mean by “Reference to book of breed”?
EDIT: I will not add more fields for litters, in any case I’t will be automatic searching directly from the DB.

I’m aware there are multiple bugs. I’m rewriting the plugin, I’t will be out in less than 10 days if everything goes as planned.ATM, I’ll try to fix this bug, but I’m unable to reproduce it. So please give me this information:
1- In Laika settings how is your configuration (wp-admin/options-general.php?page=laika-options)?
2- When you talk about a “post” you mean a “laika content type” or a standard post?
3- It happens if you change your template to the WordPress default?
4- Can you paste here the code of your Laika post tipe where it happens the bug?

First of all please update the plug-in to the new version, there was an important bug that prevented the content being displayed.
About your question, you can’t. What this plugin does is create a new content type. After you activate it, it shall appear “laika” on the admin menu, under post, media, pages (it’s a shiny yellow logo).
Then you click on add new and you’re able to add pets profiles, 1 by one, like when you’re writing a post.

The thing is, Family trees are more complex, for example you have to display siblings, and I want this one to be a good option for pet-breeding websites, without making it too much complex.
At the moment, though, I want to focus on making it stable.
