Hi Team Yoast,
So I heard back from my hosting company again, it’s nothing to do with Yoast and I apologise for making this ticket….. it does seem to be something inherent in WP 5.5 though. This is what my host said:
“Thanks for your patience here. I’ve done some additional investigation and it turns out there was a web application firewall rule being hit, but it was being logged to a separate audit log.
It’s possible that the WordPress 5.5 update (rather than Yoast) may have caused the WAF conflict, especially if the WordPress SEO plugin was working properly before the WordPress core update”.
So, now it’s fixed.
Keep up the great work at Yoast, it’s appreciated!
Hi,
Thank you for coming back to me on this, it’s appreciated.
I’ve forwarded your reply to my hosting company so they can investigate further on the server side and I will post again here when they come back to me.
It just seems strange that this has worked perfectly up until WP 5.5……
Hi Phill,
Yes Indeed you are correct, they were there all along now you’ve shown me where they reside in the source code. Also, to anyone else reading this, the support ticket system for Pro users is simply first class! There was a glitch in their system for a couple of days, but all good now!
