In reply to: Add category to Sidebar w/link to text somewhere?Esmi, I must be the dumbest person on earth. I searched for exclude site navigation and read the posts. Is this the kind of thing you’re suggesting I do?

If so, I’ve looked at the stylesheet and the page template and can’t figure out where to put it. There is no php wp_list_pages anywhere that I could find.
The closest thing I saw was an option on the dashboard to make the page private but that just put the text on the home page and deleted all the posts. Obviously, I’m not doing things correctly.
Any suggestions?

I still have to create a file for it somewhere in order to link to it. I only want people to be able to see the excerpt if they click on the link. I don’t want it to be visible otherwise.

Thanks so much. Everything is back to normal now. I do have one question for you. I used PHPAdmin and when I went to change the urls at ‘home’ and ‘siteurl’, they were already the new name. I was afraid to leave them like that so I changed them to the old name. I still want to have them in the new name but I’m wondering if I change them back will I have the same problem again?

It sounds like ftp would be better but I have no idea how I would “FTP to the site.” I’m really a novice at all this. I read the whole section on changing the site url before and came out glassy eyed.
Thanks for starting me off on this. Can you help me figure out the ftp please?
