Jebus, I’m an idiot. For anyone else having this issue, don’t be like me and forget to add id=-1 to the shortcode.

    [dg columns=”-1″ id=”-1″ category=”Resources”]

Works for me! Thanks again for an awesome plugin!

No change other than the styling. However I did notice something odd. The posts that display incorrectly have a slightly different DOM structure than the ones that do not. There is an additional anchor tag where there shouldn’t be one, putting the title attribute into it’s own element instead of part of the link.

I have cleared the cache, but I am seeing different behavior now that may be related.

I am seeing some of the related posts display properly with overlays and some of them display their title to the side as an anchor tag? Any ideas?

Thank you for the update. I can now hide the Format Icon but the setting for Text distance from left seems to be ignored. Here is an example:

I do have custom CSS negative margins applied to the blog entry titles but then set Text distance from left to 60px to compensate. As you can see in the example the 60px is being ignored.

Thank you for our time and effort in maintaining this plugin.

The only issues I see now are that some of the widget settings are unclear or not functioning properly. For example, I have the Show Format Icon setting unchecked and instead of hiding icons altogether it sets all Format Icons to the Standard icon. Is this the expected behavior?

Also, setting the Text Distance from the Left setting has no effect on bulleted text, everything else shifts to the right just fine but bulleted text remains on the left margin.

Lastly, the some of the settings are unclear as to their function. For example the Text-Align drop-down at the very bottom is underneath the settings for the byline settings leading one to believe that it would adjust the alignment for the byline, but surprise!, it adjusts the alignment for the entire article.

Also, perhaps the terminology Button Highlight Color should be Button Hover Color to avoid confusion.

Just may two cents, I appreciate the work you have done, just wanted to provide some helpful feedback.

    Cheers!

Removing the blog widget from the page and recreating it cleared the error. Thank you very much for the added features!

Hey Adi, just following up to see how progress is coming on the full text option. Cheers!

Awesome! Thanks I had tried attaching the page before without success but without the id=-1. That did the trick! Great plug-in!

My only request would be the ability to add the modified/updated %date% above or below the document title or description so site visitors can verify that the have the latest revisions.

    Thanks again,
    Ryan

Ok, here goes, hopefully this helps:

Using the MLC plugin I created a category called Media Category:
    http://s24.postimg.org/63kjeiqsl/Media_Categories.png

Then added the Category to a PDF in the Media Library:
    http://s16.postimg.org/3p1994qh1/Category_assigned_to_Document.png

Then added the shortcode to a Page:
    http://s2.postimg.org/fn9nl54e1/Shortcode_in_Page.png

Then get no results on the Page:
    http://s9.postimg.org/bfk2p830v/No_Results.png

I have tried various other methods and plugins all with similar results. Probably the most telling is this example (Using SIteOrigin Post Loop):
    http://s30.postimg.org/hxvbt1p35/Site_Origin_Post_Query.png

As you can see at the bottom the query returns no posts.

My guess is that something is hosed behind the scenes but I don’t have terminal or FTP access to the server that this site is hosted on, and I wouldn’t really know where to start as I don’t normally dev WP sites.

My hope is that I overlooked something stupid and feel like an idiot for spending so much time trying to troubleshoot this issue.

Again, much thanks for any guidance that you can provide.

Yeah I tried that too. I am thinking that something is fowled up somewhere. I may just have to utilize IDs for now.
I would love to be able to troubleshoot this with but it’s difficult to describe what I am seeing without sending screenshots.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Ive been trying this and failing. Let me know if I am doing something incorrectly or if there is something inherently wrong with the site. I have taken over ownership of a site so I don’t know everything that has been done with it prior.

I am using the Media Library Categories to create categories for the documents, then assigning the categories to selected documents in the Media Library.

On the page where I want them to appear I am using the format
    [dg media_category=”Category Name”]
    and the page returns:
The taxon value entered, “media_category”, is not valid.

With that said, I did notice that the MLC plugin seems to be creating categories using the category taxonomy instead of media_category, is this normal behavior?

Thanks a ton, this hiccup has been driving me nuts.

Can Document Gallery then filter by category?

I would like to be able to have a page with several Document Galleries each displaying a different category without having to manually add the ID to each gallery ever time the user adds another document.

    Something like
    [dg media_category=”registration_documents”]
    [dg media_category=”instruction_manuals”]
    [dg media_category=”forms_and_applications”]
    etc.

Or can you recommend another method of accomplishing this same goal? Thanks!
