    This works perfectly. I’ve added the clear: both; property and it cleared everything up.

    Now, I have an issue with the mobile-view top background image. It appears to not expand past a certain point. You can see the “Site Title” and “Tagline” overlapping the graphic at the top of the page and extending into the white background below the graphic.

    When I add the “Recent Posts” widget (or any widget) to the “Sidebar Widget Area”, the top graphic does not fill the background within this area, where this area remains white. Yes, the sidebar appears to be the header in mobile-view. But I would like the top background image to widen its height and meet up flush with the main content area, below.

    Update:

    I have managed to get the content area to appear by using the z-index to “push” the footer issue behind the content. Although the mobile content is now viewable, the text is not selectable and the links do not work. It appears as though there is an “invisible” element covering the content area, preventing the mobile user from interacting with the links or selecting text. Desktop viewability is not an issue.
