Well it would be nice if this function was more front and center.
Good job I came here and asked you. I asked 2 WP experts so far and neither of them knew and one coder was ready to write me a plugin to fix it. LOL. To funny.

In reply to: trailing slash on the category baseI was converting a blog from MyST hosted blog system to WordPress and I wanted to match the URLs up in the search engines (SE). The SEs see http://www.domain.com/blog/category as a different page than http://www.domain.com/blog/category/ . So I didn’t want to drop the pages in the SE index, the Pagerank vote directed to those pages by inbound links, nor any rankings those pages had. So I needed to duplicate the URL structure.
