In reply to: [Faceted Search] [Plugin: Faceted Search] Three quick questionsOK, make it five quick questions. 🙂
I’m just adding two more.– I noticed that the Faceted Search widget returns results starting with the oldest blog/site posts first.
How do you change this around and make it show the newly added entries first?– Let’s say that a visitor does a search using the Faceted Search widget. And let’s say that there are 2000 results that match his search.
How do you make the results appear on several separate pages as opposed as all the 2000 results being shown in a long column on the same page?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Faceted Search] [Plugin: Faceted Search] Dropdown List Instead o Checkboxes^ Thanks, I don’t really need to style the checkboxes – they are OK the way they are.
I only need to make the whole tree thing a little bit more neat looking.
I will also need to somehow do a few font tweaks (color, bold/italic, etc).Should I view the stylesheet.css on http://www.dmngoodtimes.com to be able to understand what you did?
I’m really, really new to this game.BTW, does your setup allow for automatic table row creation every time you create a new category?

In reply to: [Faceted Search] [Plugin: Faceted Search] Dropdown List Instead o CheckboxesHey mark7694, your customization of this widget is cool.
I want to make mine look like that too – neat tables instead of messy tree structures.
What should I do to the plugin’s code to get that look? (I am a complete copy/paste newbie)
Thanks!Forum: Plugins

It amazes me that such a popular and useful search function is not readily available and is not included in the WordPress package.

In reply to: WordPress = World Level Mess. Login page nightmaresThe server is my PC, localhost.
I am using WebMatrix to run WordPRess on it.I deleted all the themes in the wp-content/themes folder on my hard disk and then re-introduced the basic theme copying it from a fresh WordPress zip file.
This didn’t solve the problem.
Did the same with the plugins – I deleted them all and then re-introduced them in the wp-content/plugins folder from the WP zip.
Again – this did nto solve anything. My main problem is that I’m not able to open the wp-login.php page and to log in into WordPress.
wp-login.php gives me a blank page.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: How to install and use WordPress without a web host?I guess the whole package automatically installed PHP and MySQL on my machine?
I am running WordPress now but I don’t know if it has its PHP functionality.
Maybe I will have to install PHP manually?
Or does the fact that I managed to run WordPress on my machine mean that I already have PHP installed?Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: How to install and use WordPress without a web host?I am running IIS now.
I managed to install WordPress after filling in a ton of confusing information.
I had to type in a password about 5 billion times.
But it worked.
Now I’ll try to figure it out how the thing works.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: How to install and use WordPress without a web host? So, installing a web server on my machine is my only option to test WordPress?
Aren’t there any free web hosting services that offer WordPress support?
I remember back in the day there were free hosts that would allow you to use their web space and they would add banner ads in your pages as a compensation.
Should I bother searching for a host like that?
