Thanks for the update. It’s not practical for us to change our description to plain text for the sake of one third-party platform. Our other advertising platforms (e.g. Google, Bing) are working fine although they do permit custom field mapping where required. Perhaps this would be a more elegant solution for the Reddit plugin? I.e. permit custom mapping for the description and other fields.
It’s also not practical to change our product setup to remove variations and use separate single products for each variation. Once again this setup is handled fine by our other third-party plugins.
Thanks for the feedback. The product description field’s editing interface natively permits all these HTML tags, so I suspect all third-party services need to accommodate them. We haven’t been manually adding any custom tags, they are just generated when using the built-in editing interface. Here is a screen shot of the interface.

We have an SEO plugin but the product CSV file created by Reddit doesn’t show any unusual HTML
In addition, it appears that the plugin isn’t handling product variations at all. The CSV file has one row of data even though the product has three variations. Furthermore the stock level shows “out of stock” even though two of the three variations are in stock.
