In reply to: [WPS Hide Login] wp-register.php exposes login URLFollow-up regarding Redirection: for the target URL you might have to specify the FULL path to your Home page (e.g. https://www.sitename.com/index.php) or the full path to wherever you want to direct the “visitor”.

In reply to: [WPS Hide Login] wp-register.php exposes login URLIf you’re not able or willing to wait for the developers to implement a fix for this problem, the following will work as a temporary (or permanent) fix:
1) install Redirection plugin (https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/)
2) create a redirect
Source URL: /wp-admin/wp-register.php
Target URL: index.phpBit of a pain, but I tested it and it works.

In reply to: [BulletProof Security] JTC-lite enabled by default: 2 thumbs downThanks for your quick reply & explanation.
Part of my reason for posting was that I know other people are going to say “What the heck is this?” …because that’s what I said, and when I did a keyword search for it, nothing came up.
RE: “Users have to enter a valid CAPTCHA before login processing will even occur/be processed” …if that were the case, it wouldn’t be such a big deal. After hearing about this from clients, I ran some tests and my password manager totally bypassed the 3rd field triggering 2 successive failed login attempts.
I am interested in knowing how many others have concerns about this.

In reply to: [Responsive WordPress Slider - HG Slider] .flexslider is not a function errorHi ReallyGreenJames,
Do you by chance have WooCommerce installed? I have HG Slider on a number of projects and it’s working fine with WP 4.8. I ran some tests and as soon as I install the latest version of WooCommerce, HG Slider stops loading (same as you described above). I haven’t found a solution yet. If I find one, I’ll post it here.
PKHello,
I opened a separate support thread with a possible solution for this problem:

For anyone else who comes across this limitation (as I did), this is worth checking out: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ajax-load-more/.
Very similar functionality to Display Posts Shortcode with added ability to control how much content is loaded by the browser until visitor scrolls.

In reply to: [Storefront] Storefront 2.0 with SASS & minified stylesheetHi James,
When did I say anything about wanting to edit the parent theme? I didn’t.
What I SAID was, the update made it more difficult for me to to develop and troubleshoot problems.
What I DID NOT say in my original review – but is worth pointing out for others who may be reading this, is the Storefront 2.0 update BROKE three live sites based on Storefront child themes. It broke the layout. It broke the connection to the child theme. And it changed the default icon set. This sort of thing is simply unacceptable to me, and in my opinion warrants the 1-star review.
I have developed a lot of WordPress sites based on core WordPress parent themes and have never experienced anything like this.
The reason I started using Storefront is that I mistakenly figured it would be a solid and dependable “core” parent theme for WooCommerce for developers, similar to the Twenty Ten through Twenty Sixteen parent themes. I will not use Storefront again and encourage others to exercise caution before using this as a dependable parent theme.
No errors after updating – thanks Joe!
Thanks Joe!
