Unfortunately, support is not extended to third-party plugins.

The plugin uses external programs Ghostscript and Imagemagick to convert PDFs to images.
Many shared hosting providers disable execution of external programs for security reasons. If you’re using a dedicated VPS, you can contact your hosting provider to enable it for you.

WP Engine likely restricts execution of those programs, hence, the errors.

Processing a PDF file is a very resource-intensive operation. A PDF file having more than 10 pages is very likely to make your server unresponsive.
Please keep “Limit converted PDF pages to 10” checked under Booklets->Settings.
