now I’m grumpy that coming soon does not protect against this sort of thing on wp default pages.

Thanks for responding.
I got it resolved by having my ‘fix it’ go in there.
I had not thought about the server intervening. I will check with my host to avoid any future issues.
note: I had tried de-activating a plugin at a time. no go. I checked each for debug feature. Did not find any.
All I can say is, thank goodness I have a good relationship with a coder who can do whatever my skills don’t include. 🙂

‘WP_DEBUG’ is set to flase yet debug nitices are still showing.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. It seems like acub’s knowledge about the theme is very valuable here. I want to keep the zoom effect.
