    Try editing your single post and main index files, in your admin panel [under design/presentation area]. Those two places are where you put the code to include the author name [your name] to each post.

    Save a backup of the files before making any changes.

    Hi everyone.

    It seems I was looking at the problem from the opposite perspective: the permalinks were the issue.

    I changed the permalink to include more variables [non-numeric variables], and everything is fine.

    Solution: Change your permanlink structure to be more dynamic if possible, as WordPress [or other things on your site] may use a lot of basic permalink structures for different things which may cause the 404 message, because they will be in direct conflict with the permalink structure that you choose in your WP admin panel.
