Hi meenashah,
In fact what you’re experiencing is the default behavior of WCML. If you try to translate a product (or edit a product translation) you’ll be redirected to WPML>WooCommerce Multilingual>Products. From there you should translate all your products, categories, attributes, etc. If you want to do it in the old native way (not recommended) you can change it selecting ” Go to the native WooCommerce product editing screen” in WPML>WooCommerce Multilingual>General Settings [Product Translation Interface].
As for your 404 issue, I suggest you to open a ticket in our WPML.org support forum. From there we’ll be able to check your configuration directly and help you in a better way.
Thanks!
BernatThanks! 🙂
Hi meenashah,
When you activate WooCommerce Multilingual, it handles all product translations, so whenever you click on that ‘+’ or ‘pencil’ icon next to any product you’ll be redirected to our product translation GUI. We recommend you to use it to translate your products as it’s easier and can handle synchronization in a better way.
As for the 404 errors on category pages, have you checked if you have translated the ‘product-category’ slugs (from permalinks page) in WPML>Strings Translation? People sometimes forgot about it and end up with non-translated urls that give 404 errors.
Thanks,
BernatHi,
Thanks for reporting. This is the first time we hear about it (and we tested it already)… The problem can be related to many things (configuration, compatibility issues with another plugin, …). I recommend you to post your issue on our wpml.org support forum. This way we’ll be able to take a deeper look at your issue and help you in a better way. 🙂
Thanks,
BernatHi,
This seems a compatibility issue… Can you paste the url of the plugin so we can check if its already in our compatibility list? If not, we’ll check it and contact the author to work with him to make it 100% compatible. 🙂
Thanks,
BernatHi Plambech,
Can you confirm us which permalink structure are you using? Also, have you configured wpml to add the language code as a parameter in the url or as a directory?
Thanks,
BernatHi oococc,
We’ve added it to our compatibility list and we’re contacting the authors to work with them in order to make it fully compatible as soon as possible. 🙂
Also, could you describe us the issues you’re experiencing (and steps to replicate)? This way we’ll make sure we don’t miss anything! 😉
Thanks,
BernatHi jennybeaumont,
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve added it to our ‘future’ to-do list and we’ll certainly consider it for next versions. 🙂
Thanks,
BernatHi planetshaker,
Well this is really weird! Our plugins shouldn’t conflict each other (and we don’t have any instance of this is happening right now). Can you check if you’re using latest versions of all our plugins?
Thanks!
BernatGood to know!
Thanks 🙂
Thanks Laura,
Glad it helped. 🙂
Hi rebelot,
– I think latest version of WooCommerce is stripping html tags from category description fields itself… Can you try if you’re able to create a new category (default language) with an image tag in the description?
– As for the translated category pages not loading, can you check the value you have in Settings>Permalinks for the category-base? If its empty, can you try to enter any slug there (you can enter ‘product-category’ again) and then go to WPML>Strings Translation and translate it (marking it as complete)? It should fix the 404 issue.
– This is purely a style issue that si directly related to your theme. You should override the category page structure in your theme by replacing its template. You can check more documentation about woocommerce templates here: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/template-structure/
Hope it helps 🙂
BernatHi,
Thanks for reporting this. We’ll add a note of this and consider it for future updates.
Thakns 🙂
Hi kabirsomro,
As I can see you’re using a custom field that takes an image ID. I guess you already set it up to be ‘translatable’ in the product edit page or in WPML>Translation Management>Multilingual Content Setup (as it is already appearing on the WooCommerce Multilingual translation GUI). As it is a custom field, our GUI is simply asking to translate the original value, so you should check the ID of the duplicate image and paste it there.
When you upload an image to WP, WPML automatically duplicates it to all your secondary languages, so you should be able to check that image in your desired language and get its ID.
Hope it helps. 🙂
Thanks,

In reply to: [WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce] multisite ?Hi Marie,
WCML supports Network installs without any problem. 🙂 The only thing that WPML doesn’t support related to Mutlisite is to use different domains per language on a folder install, but I guess its not your case. 🙂
Thanks,
Bernat
