Is there a way to disable category sync for existing products when “Update existing products during import.” is selected in the “import products from square”. The problem is that categories have been overridden several times leaving category pages affecting SEO.
Unfortunately, the feature to disable category sync is not available anymore.
At this point, there is no immediate plan to replace the “don’t sync categories” functionality in updated versions of the Square plugin.
If this is a critical and immediate issue for your store, one option would be to disable sync so that your WooCommerce categories are not overwritten on the Square side.
You might also consider getting in touch with a developer and have a customization put together to exclude category data from the sync from Square – for customizations: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/
I also recommend casting your vote for the idea to rebuild this functionality in the current version of the Square plugin on the Ideas Board here:
