In reply to: Comment form showing even when logged in!Problem solved!
Here is what I did, if someone has the same problem:
I simply opened wp-config and wrote three sentences for the first three keys there. I have absolutely NO idea what those keys are for (if anyone would like to explain to me why this solved my problem I would appreciate) but now my site works well…

In reply to: Comment form showing even when logged in!Hi,
And thanks for your help jdembowski and Otto42!
I realize that I should have given more information about the problem. I think jdembowski is right: the comments.php file is not the problem.
The problem is that when I click to “log in” in my sidebar and enter my information, I can correctly access the admin panel. So far, everything is fine. But when I click on the link from the admin panel that goes to my blog, I don’t see “logged in as…” but I still see the “log in” text that invites me to log in again, and if I try to do whatever from there I am considered as a guest rather than been logged in.
As an example, I used to see a “Edit” below posts (only visible to the author) but now it’s gone. I really am a guest on my own blog…
This is as precise as my poor English skills can get me so far.
Thank you for your help. I wish I could help some people someday as well as I received help from many here.

In reply to: How to style WP 2.7 threaded commentsThe problem seems to be more important than this… In fact, I can’t see a different color when I post for a very simple reason: my new 2.7 WP installation does not recognize me…
Well, I can log in, and do whatever I do, but when I go back to the comments file, I have to re-enter my informations and even if I manually write them correctly, wordpress treats me as if I was a complete stranger.
I guess this is where the problem started.
If you have time, I describe the problem here:

Thanks.
BTW, I like WP 2.7 more and more. It’s a difficult nut to crack, but thanks to people like you and Chris, it seems easier now.

In reply to: How to style WP 2.7 threaded commentsI now use Otto’s script for displaying reply below comments and Chris Harrison’s CSS and it works well. However, I have trouble setting a different background color for bypostauthor for replies.
I set
ol.commentlist li.bypostauthor {background:#333333 ;}and I correctly see a different color when I write a comment in the main place. However, it does not do anything when I reply.
So I tried this:
ol.commentlist li ul.children li.bypostauthor {background:#333333 ;}but it did not work either. Anyone has any idea?
Thanks

It’s annoying, because each time I see the extract it starts with the caption code…

In reply to: How to style WP 2.7 threaded commentsQuestion here: I installed this and it works fine… but for one thing: when I click “Reply” instead of making place for the form right below the comment where I clicked, it links to the bottom of the page. Is there any way to make it work correctly?
Thanks

In reply to: How to style WP 2.7 threaded commentsVery interesting cdharrison. Thank you very much.
By the way, how would you integrate a background image behind the avatar? I’ve tried, but failed every time.
I was able to get the image but it would not go far enough to the left or the avatar was at the correct place but without the image behind it.

In reply to: Is it possible to delete the “Blog archive” that is everywhere?I have a dilemma: Headpsace did insert a nice extract that would appear below the title in Google search pages; I had to manually enter such extract for A-I-O, and the problem is that if I did not enter it, the extract would be the beginning of the text, that is a ‘caption id’ and lot of parameters irrelevant for anyone searching my topics.
On the other hand, Headspace did add a ‘Blog archive’ to each page, and this is annoying.
How to make the better of both worlds?
Hmm… Thanks for the tips; I will work on this and get back to you if it does not work! 🙂
