This actually helped, but the other way around: I had to disable it, and now it works.

I would like to emphasize that it is not slugs that causes the problem, it’s regular links or images in the text. In the screenshot you can see that in the English version it’s “Privacy Policy” but it still directs to the Hungarian document when clicked on in the published version.
