I have confirmed 100% that the “Account optional” feature is enabled on my Paypal account.
However the Paypal landing page you go to when using Event Tickets has no selection anywhere on the page to allow you to bypass account creation.
So I instead created a Buy button using some html from the Paypal website and this button now takes takes you to an almost identical landing page that DOES have the option to bypass account creation. I can collect screenshots and provide if you wish.
I have found many people report the very same issue on the Paypal forums and all come back with it being resolved by the 3rd party shopping cart. Something to do with the NPI request sent.So I built a “Buy Now” button on the Paypal website and added that html to my page and selecting that does take you to the paypal payment page that does not require you to create a paypal account when checking out. So this kind of proves the issue is in the NPI sent to paypal.
So I will unfortunately have to go with the paypal button for now 🙁
Love the plugin though with the stats and the ticket count down as they are purchased.
The RSVP option has worked fantastic for other events so great for a non-profit volunteer page.

I have also disabled Astra and activated the twenty sixteen theme with all plugins disabled except Modern tribe Events Calendar and Event Tickets to confirm no theme or plugin conflict.

Found someone with the exact same issue on the Paypal website in the post below.
They fixed the issue by adding <input type=”hidden” name=”landing_page” value=”Billing” /> to their form submitted to paypal when someone makes a purchase.
