    Update: well I contacted Host Gator and they were able to restore everything!
    I am so pleased.

    Hi and thanks for your reply.
    I have been in contact via live chat and asked the host for a backup and hope that that helps.
    They told me I should do a manual backup which I am going to try to do.
    I agree that the indexing should have nothing to do with it – as far as I know.
    Thanks for your help. I will check out the DB name as you suggested. This is all so overwhelming!!
    Actually neither name shows up on the cPanel.
    I will keep you informed and, once again,thanks for your reply!

    Thank you so much for that advice rayds. I was going crazy trying to find the missing visual editor.
    I had purchased a Free Stock Photos plugin called Image Pressr and, as I had paid for it I obviously wanted to use it!
    But once I had deactivated it – having stored the image I want in the media library – the visual editor came back!
    Thanks so much. You have saved me hours of frustration! It is now gone midnight so I can finally go to bed and stop worrying about it!
