It might be that the theme is overriding the template and the string is not translated in the theme’s files.Can you check if the theme has the “Popular payment methods” string as well and if it’s translated properly into German?

I checked and tested myself on a test website, and I do not think that we have an option to disable the email.It can be done via custom code, but you will have to edit JavaScript files, which is highly not recommended.
I’m going to leave this topic open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.
