    Hi everyone,

I’ve found the cause of my problems with the backend not updating:

Seems like it was caused by some missing MySQL-Privileges for my DB-user.
I’ve changed it to ALL PRIVILEGES now and everything works like it should.

So this problem actually wasn’t caused by switching to WP 3.0 but moving to the new server a couple of months ago.

    Thanks for your help…

Yes, I’ve been using WP-cache but I also tried deactivating and manually deleting the plugin – without any effects on my problems.

I’ve just downloaded WordPress 3.0 again and made an all new and fresh install to the same server (new DB) to test – and the problems persists also with this fresh installation – backend won’t update “current theme” when i switch the theme, and I can’t delete users I’ve added…

I think there must be a problem with my server settings or database settings?

I’m running PHP 5.2.5, the MySQL version is 4.1.25…

Any ideas what could be wrong?
    Thank you…

That didn’t help – I tried clearing the cache and used Firefox, IE and Opera – without success… I think it’s not browser related…

    thanks, though

    Hi,

I noticed one more thing – I tried to delete an old user account under “Users” – got the confirmation “1 user deleted” – but it’s still there – a similar behaviour as with the “current theme” display… the system tells me it worked but doesn’t update the view…

    Hi esmi,

    thank you for your answer!
I’ve tried all of your suggestions – but didn’t have any success…
Plugins don’t seem to affect my theme/backend problem… I’ve deactived all of them both using the backend and resetting the plugin directory via ftp.
Also switching themes isn’t a problem – it just won’t switch in the backend (frontend works fine)

I still don’t have any ideas what could be causing this… could it possibly be caused by some strange file permission settings or something?

thanks for your help anyways – will keep on searching for a solution…
