In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Sharing buttons not workingI also switched the theme in troubleshooting mode to my theme, re-enabled jetpack only and it still does not work so I know for sure it’s somewhere in my other coding. I am just at a loss as to where to go from here.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Sharing buttons not workingOkay, so I was able to isolate it to my theme, which is based on _s by Automattic. I enabled troubleshooting mode in the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and was able to download a test _s theme that has not been modified and was able to add the code I was using to enable likes and sharing on my theme (copied directly from my theme) and was able to display the share buttons on the test theme and they work.
So the issue must be with some of the coding I have done myself. This is as far as I could figure out to go. I am not sure how to figure it out further from here as to what I have added or changed that has caused the issue. I’m frankly surprised I got this far. I am self-teaching myself as I go. Any suggestions?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Sharing buttons not workingI do have health check installed and it says there is no issues. But I will try switching to the default twenty twenty theme and and all the other suggestions you’ve provided and see if I can figure it out. Thanks so much for the suggestions.

In reply to: Space below footerI seem to have sort of fixed it by adding:
position: relative;
bottom: -300px;
width: 100%;to the element, not really sure that’s the correct way so if anyone has any ideas please let me know, thanks

In reply to: Space below footerI have disabled all plugins and the issue remained so it is not a plugin causing it. I have reactivated and it is still there.

In reply to: Space below footerAlso, I noticed it seems to mostly only happen on pages that have less content on the left side then the content in the sidebar (shorter).

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Jetpack and UnderscoresHi James, no I won’t be sticking with underscores in the future. I have downloaded and have been playing around a little with components and will switch for sure. In the meantime, though I will look at the section “How can I move where the sharing icons are displayed” in the meantime to see if for my current theme I can at least add theme until I have had a chance to look more at the updated starter theme.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Jetpack and UnderscoresThank you supernovia. I will look at using components. I am just teaching myself and underscores seemed the simplest but now I see why. I will add what is in the inc file and see if that helps. Right now the main two things in the sharing button and like button for the posts.

In reply to: Comments cookie opt-in & checkboxesI went back and found under settings > discussion > Show comments cookies opt-in checkbox, allowing comment author cookies to be set and I checked and saved this. It’s still not showing in either my theme or Twenty Nineteen.
I still also can not figure out why the checkboxes are centred on the page as well.

In reply to: Comments cookie opt-in & checkboxesI have tried Twenty Nineteen and the comments cookie opt-in (Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment) is not showing up with Twenty Nineteen either.
So I don’t think it’s theme related. Maybe there is a setting that I have accidentally turned it off? I can’t find one. My wordpress version is 5.1.1 and I know that it should have it. It’s the newest version.
As for theme I’m using Underscores which is a starter theme. I wrote the CSS myself and edited the theme myself. I’m not sure if it is anything that I did but I don’t think so.
