If you are using a responsive theme, try ‘Shortcodes Ultimate’ You can then wrap the google-routeplanner in a half or third column which will resize with the browser.
Alternatively, style a wrap for the routeplanner with width 100% and add this to your styles.
Hope this helps, I have found the google-routeplanner really effective. See http://www.westwalesschoolofmotoring.com/location/ for example.

event.returnValue is deprecated. Please use the standard event.preventDefault() instead. jquery.js?ver=1.10.2:4
Under Network I get a massive list – not sure what to do with it though, everything is showing as OK under status.
