In reply to: [MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress] mailchimp related 404Hi Danny,
Cleared both of the caches twice in two days, but still seeing the mailchimp 404s. Now there seem to be fewer 404s from googlebot, but still a few, but more 404s from users. Also now seeing two types of 404s:
http://website.com/wp-content/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/assets/css/checkbox.min.css
and
http://website.com/wp-content/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/assets/css/form.min.css
Any ideas on what to do next? Thanks for your help.

In reply to: [MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress] mailchimp related 404Thank you for your quick response. Yes we cache through CloudFlare and WP Super Cache. Also we noticed that most of the 404s for this reference are coming from googlebot. Will clearing the caches at CF and WPSC clear up the 404? or should we redirect it with a 301?

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Some 404sGreat – thanks for the quick reply. I will just leave the .htaccess update in place and wait for the next version of AO for the rest.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Some 404sHi Frank,
I have been having a ton of 404s related to AO as well, but only coming from the searchbots with this format.
http://xxxxxxxxxx.com/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/js/autoptimize_xxxxxxx1d5d20d6db910084cc500d1af.jsI am trying to use the code fix you suggested above and others reported as being successful. I put the code in the .htaccess, no issue there. However when I tried to put the same code in the autoptimizeCache.php as you suggested below, it doesn’t work due to unexpected formating.
“If this works, you’ll probably want to update /wp-content/plugins/autoptimize/classes/autoptimizeCache.php to have that code as well (as autoptimizeCache.php writes .htaccess if not there).”
Can you give me more details on how to update autoptimizeCache.php? Also one of the prior posters said you need to update 2 instances in autoptimizeCache.php and it would be helpful if you could guide me to where the two instances are in the file.
Thanks for the great plugin.
I think I have a final resolution and will post it here just in case anyone else also runs into this same issue. Turns out the version of Visual Composer that was bundled with the theme was out of date. After upgrading to the latest version from 4.6.2 to 4.7.1.1 in my case, Visual Composer is no longer conflicting with this plugin, WPFBOGP or with the SEO plugin. Good luck to everyone.
Chuck,
Thanks for the info. Still working through this, but just in case others have the same issue, here is what I have found so far. After one by one deactivating each of my plugins, I have narrowed down the conflict to the Visual Composer plugin which is bundled with the Newspaper theme. Doing a google search, I see that there is a long history of SEO plugins and the VC plugin conflicting which seems to get fixed temporarily until either the SEO plugin or the VC plugin upgrades again which then seems to re-open old conflict issues. Again I’m still a newbie at this stuff, but that’s my lay person read of what is happening. I have contacted the support for Newspaper and VC again and will see what they come back with. For now, my work around is to deactivate VC before I create the first FB share for my new articles. After FB has the correct og tags, then I can reactivate VC since FB seems to keep the tags until they are rescraped again. It’s a pain in the butt, but it seems to work for now until I get a solution to the conflict from Newspaper or VC.
Also still switching back and forth between this plugin which has been excellent and Yoast SEO. I have noticed subtle differences between the two in how they handle FB og tags.
Thanks for the great support.
