The reason I had to deactivate is because the plugin provider took over 2 weeks to respond to my question – I can’t have a broken plugin up for that long – I have clients who visit my website.

I am using WordPressboys to fix this bug – charging me $$$ for something that WordPress itself ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content) recommended using.
This is totally ridiculous.
