Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Error while upgrading: content no longer visibleI haven’t moved the site. Whether or n ot I had a WordPress in it’s own directory I don’t know. I’m not that savvy with computers and just installed it the simple way with the one-click option.

In reply to: Error while upgrading: content no longer visibleIt was quite simple really. Mike at Dreamhost thought it was a bit of a glitch which somehow made a whole new directory (darn.. not even sure if that was the right word) when wordpress upgraded, which then hid the content. Well, I hope I got that right, but it’s all up and running again.
Thanks once more.

In reply to: Error while upgrading: content no longer visibleI guess that’s what seems the most logical.. What I found really strange is that the page I got where I had to enter the site name, a username and password could have been accessed by anyone (I tried two computers at home without being logged in), with the result being a brand new clean site.. It doesn’t make sense to me.
Be that as it may, assuming that hopefully everything is safe, my big question now is how to get the content which obviously still is somewhere out there (accessible by ftp) back online. I’m in the middle of a campaign for which I need the site..

In reply to: Error while upgrading: content no longer visibleThanks Esmi,
As far as I know I didn’t try to upgrade. I did notice a bar on top of the site a few days ago recommending upgrading, and I clicked on it but noticed that I should backup before doing that. I didn’t have time for backing up at that time, so didn’t choose to upgrade.
