In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] Robots.txt and Google XML sitemaps pluginThe plugin just adds one line to your robots.txt to specify the path to the sitemap. Any other robots.txt content (for example entries related to blocking the description) don’t come from the plugin.

In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] Strange Text in Robots fileThat is not from the plugin. Better re-install your whole site, since it looks it has been hacked.
Please update to 4.0, it doesn’t use static files anymore so your problem should be gone 🙂

Due to security reaons, browsers will not load a stylehseet from http://www.domain.com if the sitemap is on http://domain.com

In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] Great with one neglible hitch. The dates in the sitemap are always GMT +0, like Google expects it.
You can try the Timezone converter to verify it:

Thanks for the donation!
Did you try the new beta? It doesn’t use static files anymore, so no building and re-building required 🙂

In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] Well doneHi,
Most of the SEO functions some plugins offer are useless. Keywords as meta tags? Google stopped using them years ago.
That’s the reason this plugin focuses on the XML sitemap ONLY, which really helps search engines to better index your blog instead of offering countless functions which don’t have an effect at all.
Best regards,
Arne

In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] XML Sitemap Generator 3.2.8 Code InjectionThanks for the info, fixed in 3.2.9. Please update!
The plugin doesn’t create the robots.txt file. This file is virtually created by WordPress. The plugin just hooks into this generated robots.txt to include the “Sitemap:…” line. It does not add any Allow/Disallow entries.
If you don’t like the robots.txt generated by WordPress just upload an own (empty) one.
Hi,
looks like Google will index all xml files since they might contain useful information.
Check out this article about indexing of sitemap files:
http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/018761.html
If you do want to have them removed from the index, you could have your server send a “x-robots-tag” HTTP header tag with the contents of the file. Since they all appear to be originating from a single script, I imagine adding this would be fairly easy. For more information on the “x-robots-tag”, please see our blog post.
Hmm, it was not made for a case like this. It splits up the posts by using the year and month of post_date. Are all this items really from the same date? Do you have a possibility to correct these dates?
Hi,
Google should not include your XML files in search results. Could you please post the link to your site (or mail it to himself .. arnebrachhold .. de)?
Best regards,
