Thanks to all that responded, and for the benefit to all looking for a solution to a similar problem.

The bottom line appears to be a corrupted .htaccess file – at least having my hosting service support team replace it fixed my problem.

Also for others searching for a solution. This is a quick fix your hosting service support should provide free. If not, then you are with the wrong service.

    Thanks again Litespeed Lisa.

It was a good explanation. Does that mean my hosting service, (StableHost), is/maybe using Litespeed Web server to host my site? I had never heard of Litespeed before this issue.

And what an issue it is! First, no images could be pinned, and then I discover none cam be imported in anyway. And now, I have now crashed my site trying to fix it. Fortunately, I did do a backup and am trying to do a restore now.

Thanks for looking tishu. That wasn’t my problem before. It is a result from my trying to delete .htaccess and Litespeed stuff last night.

I am off to do a restore now. Thanks for letting me know about this.

Thanks for your response Litespeed Lisa. How would I be connected to the litespeed server – other than the plugin?

I think I have fixed the duplicate pinterest pin code on the pages, but I don’t think that is a problem. Still cannot pin images from my site.

It also seems like this problem arose after a wordpress update, but since it has been a while since I tried to pin – I can’t be sure.

I have no expertise in this area, but logic seems to say it is a wordpress setting problem since the error message is that the site does NOT ALLOW pins.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response kjodie, and for the site compliment. I will check pages for that double code.

But… Is this a guess, or a known problem. I don’t think I have that “doubled” code snippit on every page.

Thanks for the reply kmessinger – I looked in public_html, and in the wp-admin, wp-content, and wp-include that were in public_html

I have looked through every folder – still no wp-config.php

where should I upload it to?

plus – I have a wp-config.php almost ready, just waiting for DB_Host name info from my provider stablehost.com

If I get that – where do I upload the wp-config.php to?

well, I’m feeling dumber every time I try

using filezilla, my domain directory looks like this:
    /
    .cpanel
    .htpasswds
    .rvsitebuilder
    .softaculious
    .spamassin
    .sqmailattach
    .sqmaildata
    .ssh
    .trash
    .access-logs
    .cpmove.psql
    .etc
    .mail
    +public_ftp
    +public_html
    +temp
    +www

but… wp-config.php is nowhere to be seen

    using cpanel file manager…

    /home/appletre

ps. if I ever resolve this – I have certainly learned the BU lesson

well, I appreciate all the help, and songdogtech’s seems the easiest – but where can I find wp-config.php?

I have tried looking through directory files using Filezilla, and WP dashboard options

I am using WP 3.3.1 with atahaulpa 3.6.4

    Thanks

esmi – thanks for the reply and advice

but… I muddled and mucked around until I may have gone beyond help

I tried uploading what I thought was BU files – but apparently they weren’t – same error msg result

I upgraded WP – but must have done it as a new install

site is there – but as a brand new empty one

old database is still available though

is there anyway to get a new WP install to use the old database?

    Thanks
    GA
