AND there’ve been the famous “default category” issues for quite a while, so it’s not so surprising that many of us suppose there’s something wrong with WP (i.e., for ALL the XMLRPC client, not only ecto.)Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: 1.5.12 and ectoI’ve tried the latest xmlrpc.php (the one posted by ryan above) and got an error saying “something wrong has happend” (according to ecto). How nice.
For me it’s okay you release an upgrade that often. It means you guys are working a lot, doing great, and WordPress IS great.
One thing that looks strange to me this time is one thing that metrixon said : you’ve “fixed” bugs in xmlrpc stuff and released it without testing even once. How’d you know you’ve fixed it if you’ve never tried it by yourself?
Basically I’ve no intention to complain nor blame, rather I come here and make posts to report bugs hoping that information helps you guys and other WP users, you know.Forum: Installing WordPress

But this updated xmlrpc.php has another problem of systematically adding default category even if other categories are selected. A problem similar to the one reported before:

I know it is a quite bad idea to use old xmlrpc (for this is THE one you wanted to replace the most), but I’d rather take a risk than simply waiting.Forum: Installing WordPress

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /path/to/wordpress/xmlrpc.php on line 548.
I guess that means I cannot post via ecto (or probably via any other xmlrpc client software).
This sucks. I replaced xmlrpc.php to the old one until this problem is fixed.
