Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Permalinks problemJust been on the phone to my ISP and it turns out that although they originally told me that the mod rewrite function was enabled, it wasn’t! Now it is and the permalinks work fine 🙂
Many thanks for the help again.

In reply to: Permalinks problemHi SwansonPhotos,
I changed the permissions of the .htaccess folder to 777 and deleted the .htaccess file and pressed save in the permalinks page. The .htaccess file has been correctly recreated with correct content but even after clearing the cache I still get the same problem!
Any other suggestions please?

In reply to: Multiple WP Installations vs WP Multisite for 4 domainsThanks Ipstenu – so just to clarify does that mean you have multiple databases in the one mysql server? And how do you tell WP what to call the database at install time?

In reply to: Multiple WP Installations vs WP Multisite for 4 domainsThanks esmi – that sounds like what I want to do 🙂 Does that mean when I have them all installed I will see 4 separate mysql databases inside phpMyAdmin? Or should I be running 4 separate mysql servers?
If it is 4 databases inside the one mysql server, what do I need to do to tell WordPress the name of the database during installation? Thanks again – sorry these questions might be a bit basic but I literally just logged into phpMyAdmin for the first time today!
Many Thanks,

In reply to: Multiple WP Installations vs WP Multisite for 4 domainsThanks Andrea – so I take it there is no technical reason why I can’t install WP four times in four separate folders on my web server? i.e. there won’t be any interference between them?
Thanks again, Andy
