@dd32 thank you for the comment. the first line did include <?php. the error went away, but at this point I honestly don’t recall exactly what I did to clear it.

    Thanks

    @macmanx thanks for your input.
    – I made a full copy of my current public_html folder and files
    – then downloaded and unzipped the current WP ver 5.6.
    – deleted everything in public-html with exception of /wp-content/ and wp-config.php/
    – uploaded all new WP 5.6 files with exception of /wp-content/
    – have tried disabling all plugins by renaming /plugins/ to /plugin_/ also tried disabling them individually.
    – tried disabling the current active child-theme and its parent theme.

These steps have provided mixed results. I am still unable to access the admin panel, however the site did come back up – kind of. I have to type the full path.. i.e. https://noteworthy-music-studios.com. simply entering noteworty-music-studios.com yields a blank screen. (I think this is because it adds www. to it. I will work with hosting company on that matter.) When I add the https:// the site comes up because it doesn’t allow www.

adding /wp-admin yields a blank screen. adding wp-login.php brings up the login screen but passwords aren’t recognized. requesting password change sends email but the link back just brings up a blank page.

Also unable to use cpanel to access the admin panel so I will be working with the hosting company.

Thanks for your guidance, it was helpful to a degree.

Thank you. I need to reset my notification settings because just seeing your response. I appreciate your efforts.

Fortunately, I didn’t have to do anything. The error just disappeared completely.
    Go figure,

    Thanks

Hi James, Could you elaborate a bit on what you think is going on? the site has been up for nearly a year and this is a new error.

Are you suggesting this occurred due to the last WP update or some plugin? other than WP and plugin updates, there have been no changes to the site except some minor content. The site is primarily a semi-static informational site.

I would like to be able to troubleshoot these issues, so understanding the causes is helpful.

    Thanks,
    Craig

    Perfect. Thanks for the help.
I used the per-page-ad-to and added the code you provided (tweaked for my site) and am now getting my feed updated.

The updated feed was always available but since the page wasn’t refreshing the image wouldn’t. Now I’m fixed.

    This thread can be closed
    Thanks

    Thanks Joy,
I appreciate the cautionary statement, thanks.
What method do most sites use to add auto updating web cam images to a wordpress site?
There don’t appear to be any plugins that are widely used and rated to accomplish this task.

    Thanks Becky,
I tried both of those possible solutions prior to submitting the question. Nothing has worked.
It is the only time this error occurred and I have it displaying based on the work-around I described previously, but that isn’t ideal.
I also tried again following my work-around and it continues to give a problem with that image.
Again, it is the only image with the problem. I just can’t figure what is wrong with the file to cause the problem. It’s not the name as I’ve tried it with different names and other edits before uploading.

Oh well, something just aren’t meant to be understood.
    Thanks again,
    Craig
