I have resubmitted the sitemap via the Google Webmasters Tool Dashboard.
How did that work out?
Have you submitted the index: sitemap_index.xml?
Is .htaccess enabled for your domain?404 not found on what URL? How does Google report this to you? Please specify some more details.

Most browsers look for the favicon.ico file in your website’s root folder, so http://www.example.com/favicon.ico.
You could check your website’s source code to see if it refers to another favicon?
