Thanks for following up so quickly! I had already checked the widgets area in the Appearance section and there’s no widget in the sidebar that appears for this particular function. So I am sure, like you said, that it’s a custom sidebar set up in the code somewhere – but I don’t know where to look and I’m not sure what the code looks like to remove this…

It’s the Waterside theme by HermesThemes.com, Version 1.0.8. My site is http://www.virtualprecisionbusinesssolutions.com. If you go to the Services page, you’ll see the pages listed in alphabetical order in the right sidebar – I think I’d rather just remove them completely – there’s no need for them to be there.

Thank you for responding! Let me know how I can remove this list, if possible.

First, create both the name page and the bio pages for each person. Save them as drafts until you’re ready to publish.

If you didn’t already plan to do so, you may want to have a main parent page called “Biographies” (or whatever you choose as the title). Make each person’s page a subpage to “Biographies.”

On the page with the names, do the following:
    – Make sure your Screen Options are on (button at top-right corner of page).
    – Highlight a name that you want to have linked to his/her description page.
    – Click on the link icon that is located on the toolbar above the content section (about 10 buttons from the left, first row).
    – A box will appear. Type in your website’s url with the title to the page you want to link to (example: http://www.scholar48/biographies/jane_doe
    – You can set up your Target, Title and Class as you see fit.
    – Click insert.

This should set you up for what you need. Good luck!

I didn’t receive any replies to my post, so I figured out another way to link my social profiles to my WordPress website – by finding another plugin that works great!

For me, the Social Links plugin does not work. I tried everything from modifying my permalinks settings to a few other tests, and it still didn’t link properly. So, I deactivated it and moved on…

As I mentioned above, I found a solution because I was determined to fix this issue. The plugin is called Social Homes, which is a widget that’s easy to administer, and does the job for me. So, now my problem is solved!

BTW – I’m using the Serenity theme in WordPress Version 2.8.2.

I just figured this one out today…

You have to edit each page…here’s what you do:

    * Go to Edit Page
    * Turn on Screen Options in the upper right-hand corner of the page
    * Make sure Discussion is checked off
    * Scroll down and you’ll find Discussion
    * Uncheck Allow Comments and Allow Pings

This took care of the problem for me! Let me know if you have any other questions.
