In reply to: Weird behavior of 1.5Hi Chris …
I Love Your Site, and Congrats on the future new addition to your family. My wife and I raised 5 kids and the excitement never goes away. Our best wishes are with you and yours
Now about your blog. My WP 1.5 install is doing the very same thing. Here is the site :
Click on the podcast link and you will see that everything is fine and works perfectly.
What I have found is that for some very strange reason this address works everytime :
however … putting in the “www.” into the link

I get the very same error you do. That is not the case with others on this forum. I am on a Macintosh, use Firefox, Safari, and IE and it happens everytime. The Windows folks don’t seem to be having the same problem with this, as are the Mac people. I simply do not understand the reasoning behind this.
I really wish someone would jump up and say do this …. and the problem would be fixed. But alas … 😉
There are quite a few people that have commented about this very problem. Here is a post I made a few days ago.

I still have my fingers crossed that someone will read through the threads and come up with “something”. 😉
Let’s hope together huh ?

In reply to: Upgrade WP1.2 to WP1.5 mess up … mac advice pleaseI converted the old WP 1.2.2 theme over to be used by WP 1.5 and all the problems went away. Very scary stuff folks.
Now the only problem I have is that I can’t find “get_links_list();” to fix the “Links” header in the column so that I can change the size to match the rest of the site.

Any suggestions??

and Thanks for adding the mac header. I wish I would have thought of that in the beginning.

In reply to: Upgrade WP1.2 to WP1.5 mess up … mac advice pleaseOK … This is getting VERY old.
I re-installed WP 1.5 early this morning. I upgraded from WP1.2. I deleted all of the files from my 1.2 install and backed them all up on my computer. Install went well without any problems. I loged into the system and everything worked fine except the front page had none of the articles from the old install. All it had was “Not Found”, then a Search button in the index.php portion of the front page.
I clicked on a category thinking that I needed to just “jump start the thing” and then the front page showed up with all my posts.
I logged into the admin area and everything was fine. Set up a few new parameters, played with this and played with that to suit my liking. Nothing special. Clicked on the link to view the site and I have “Not Found”, then a Search button in the index.php portion of the front page staring me in the face.
Safari has the hardest time with the problem. It’s also missing the Edit Link on the posts.
FireFox is showing the same problem about 40% of the time.
I don’t even open IE. It’s a total POS.
I’m on a Macintosh. I never had “ANY” of these types of problems with WP 1.2. I have totally re-installed the software again and I have tried other templates to see if that is the problem. I have cleared cache so many times it’s crazy.
The enclosures do work as I can get the feeds from both my site and from my FeedBurner site. I’m lost.
Can someone please help me find what is going on.
I appreciate any and all help.Doc

In reply to: Upgrade WP1.2 to WP1.5 mess up … mac advice pleaseSafari is the browser that is missing the Edit Link
The Edit link is on FireFox when it works.
Switching the theme doesn’t change a thing. It does the same thing both times but sporatically.
Bad Install Maybe?

In reply to: Upgrade WP1.2 to WP1.5 mess up … mac advice pleaseHi Moshu …
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I emptied the trash/cache on both Safari and FireFox and I still get the same thing 50% of the time
Could I be missing a setting that I don’t know about?
Very strange …
