Now, with this VPS there are clearly some issues.
I got rid of the redirect issue mentioned in my previous reply however when attempting to install the bundled plugins (marked as “private repository” – local) I get:
Downloading install package from http://.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/plugins/revslider.zip…
(whenever I access the file directly through my web browser, I can actually download it).
Is it possible that something is restricting wordpress to access the local file?)Download failed. Not Found
If you need my domain name for reference I can provide it in a reply.

I restored the server image since, just to make sure that support did not mess in any way with the hosts files.
Now whenever I click on plugins I end up in the login page, I login and so on….I totally get your point.
I would assume though that since the theme itself had so many purchases and did not find any issues such as this one in the support page it would be something wrong with the configuration itself, not the theme or plugins.
