define( ‘AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED’, true );
Try to contact your previous hosting provider, maybe they can help you retrieving your dbase. I hope.

In reply to: Update failed and site is not workingjust check your website again (all pages), as you said you moved all the plugins out. Maybe some of the plugins doesn’t work.
