The site has 980 mostly optimised images, 48 galleries and 9 albums and was running fine not so long ago with the widget and same number of images. I don’t know the exact point where it slowed down, whether it was after an NGG update or after a recent wordpress update. All I know is that with the widget the site is virtually crippled and without it it’s fine.
Still struggling to understand why watermarks are appearing when managing the galleries but not on the live site.
I’ve given up and gone back to using Photocrati slideshows for now as these look fine.
Hmm ok I’m not sure what’s happening then because my wife is the author of the posts but she has no Gravatar other than the default one set by wordpress so I’m not where it’s pulling my photo from. I’ll try using Featured Images but they’re easy to forget.
Ahh thanks Jeremy I think you just answered a question I was going to ask.
I manage a website for my wife who is also an admin of the site and I set Publicize up to post to her Facebook business Page. We couldn’t understand why a photo of me was appearing with her posts shared on the page and now I understand it’s coming from my Gravatar.
Maybe there could be an option to use a default image when none are used in the post, rather like Yoast’s Wordress Seo does.
I suppose if I want to use Publicize reliably at the moment I shouldn’t use the share with all accounts option and instead set my wife’s account up linked with her own fb and Gravatar accounts. Even though she’s using her own site account I guess it pulls the Gravatar image from the account (my account) that was originally used to connect to facebook?
Same here, I’ve disabled Photon until it’s fixed.
Solved this by replacing the photon.php with an update from http://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/622713
This will be rolled into the next Jetpack update.

I’d like to echo what rick4him said.
When you edit the page you can turn sharing on and off for that specific page. Beneath Discussions, Comments and Revisions or whatever you have displayed in your Edit Page view you should see Sharing. If you don’t see the option then need to activate it by clicking Screen Options at the top of the page and make sure Sharing is checked.
Yes I’d like to see this too. I particularly want to see the like button that includes the ability to share a comment.
Just a quick follow up on this – I tested renoproc’s suggestion but it made no difference for me.
Thanks renoproc – apparently the problem should be resolved when nextgen and photocrati become more integrated.

I did get some speedy help from Photocrati Support but the best they could come with is to use <center>[slideshow id=1]</center> or <div align=”center”;>[slideshow id=1]</div>.
My widest image in the slideshow was then correctly centred but the narrower ones align to the left edge of where the wide image was if that makes sense. So, it almost worked but not quite.
I’m just going make my main slideshow with images of all the same width as that works.
