  • OK, i’m gonna re-open this thread a little…

    i’ve logged into my cPanel/File Manager and changed the “uploads” permission to 777.

    And from the WP control panel, (Options/Misc) i changed the “Store uploads in this folder:” to “wp-content/uploads” and it still won’t let me upload pix through the WP control panel?

    when i try to upload, the “upload” area of the “Write Post” page disappears and the text “The uploaded file could not be moved to .” appears instead?

    <UPDATE>
    i think i figured it out… i had pre-existing subdirectories (2006 and then 07 from previous attempts to create) that had 755 permissions. so i changed those, and now it freakin’ WORKS!!!

    my last question is this: i think i changed my permissions for the parent “wp-content” folder during all this craziness, and it’s currently set to 755… is this correct/safe?

    why can’t i find this info? all i want to do is make the comments pop-up in a box… with any previous comments at the top. can anyone help me track down this documentation?
