Is there a way to add a function to NOT include an author’s reply to a comment in the total comments count?
We are so sorry but we can’t add this function.
And also, a way to stop the system emailing the author notifying them of their own comment?
Please note: wpDiscuz does not do that, maybe it does WordPress.

We tested it. However, we saw that you have some conflict. That blocks ajax process. You have plugin or template issue.

So, you should activate/deactivate all plugins one by one and template in order to see where is the issue.
