I switched themes, uninstalled and reinstalled the Jetpack plug-in, then switched back to my main theme. That resolved the issue with pages not showing. I appreciate your help.
I’m already using the Twenty Twenty theme, but I just deactivated it and tried activating Twenty Nineteen and the pages list started working again. So that’s a good clue.
Is there something in theme that I might have inadvertently modified that would change how the Pages admin section works? I’m not sure where I would begin to look.
