Since I last posted about this problem I have been able to replicate the website on an completely different host server. Unfortunately, I still get the same problem.
If I can provide you with access to my WP admin panel, would you be able to check my settings in case I’ve get something wrong?

I have installed v3.9 and checked the JS Console for errors but there doesn’t seem to be any reported.
I also tried disabling download stats and that seems to solve the problem but I do need to monitor who is downloading which files, so that isn’t really a solution beyond a temporary fix.
Is there anything else I can check to try and resolve this problem?
