I’ve been experiencing this problem too. Tooltip text is very lightly coloured against a light background which makes it very hard to read. This is immediately after installation of UM 2.0 with no changes made to any settings.
Hi,
I’m still experiencing a conflict with this. If I switch the “Disable JS/CSS Compression” option in UM ON, Google Maps work fine. However, if I switch it OFF, all I get is an empty white box.
Having this option switched ON doesn’t seem to be causing me any other problems or performance issues so I have left it like that but it would be useful to have a solution.
Many thanks.
Hi,
I can add a bit more information to my comments above:
– Google Maps seems to work fine all the time on the iPad, mobile phone and Windows laptop I have tried it on, just not the Mac. All tests have used the same website.
– The menu error mentioned above only appears after I have logged in to UM.
Hope that helps.
Hi,
I’ve just upgraded my installation to UM v2.0.1. I noticed a few things when I tried Google Maps again:
– The error pops up saying that the URL is not in my list of accepted referrers although I know it definitely is there. If I click on a entry in the index list, that company’s details are displayed and the Google Map displays fine.
– If I perform a search on the index page after the ‘not in the list of referrers’ message has been displayed and then refresh the list of results, the Google Map appears on the index page too. If I then clear all the options or do another search without navigating away from the index page, the map still displays without a problem.
– Installing v2.0.1 of UM has broken my menus. Instead of the menu options, all I get is this message:
“Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /<my installation URL>/wp-includes/nav-menu-template.php on line 341”Hi,
I’m happy to do a conflict test but I’m not sure it will achieve much as I already know the specific cause of my problem. If I have Advanced Settings > Disable JS/CSS Compression in UM switched to ON, everything works fine. As soon as I switch it OFF, the Google Maps in Web 2.0 Directory stops working (except on mobiles or tablets).
I’ve added a screenshot of the setting as it is now with everything working fine. It’s the last link here:
http://fmkx.hfc.org.uk/um-screenshots/You should be able to access the screenshots through this webpage:
http://fmkx.hfc.org.uk/um-screenshots/Thanks!
The first screenshot shows the index page which consists of companies and their addresses, each company having a marker on the map. The map should be displayed in the empty box.
The second screenshot is of the detail page for one of the companies. The empty box halfway down the page should display a map showing their location.
I don’t seem to be able to attach the screenshots to this message, I’ll try and send them to you direct instead.
I just installed the latest version (v2.0.2) of the Web 2.0 Directory plugin but I am still experiencing the same problem. Thought I’d let you know.
Hi
Thank you for a excellent plugin! It is exactly what I was looking for. Looking forward to seeing what v2.0 will bring!
However…
I’ve got a similar problem to tps316 above. I’ve set my Posts page to be restricted so that only Logged In Users can see it but it seems the setting is being ignored and the entire list of posts is displayed anyway. Access controls work wonderfully everywhere else.
Any idea what is happening?

In reply to: [File Away] Downloading files from File-AwayHi Camu, I will give this a try and see solves my problem.
Many thanks. After some more research it seems that my problem was not caused by Speed Booster Pack but by another plugin conflicting with Fileaway. Apologies for the mistake. I have marked this topic as Resolved.
Many thanks.

In reply to: [File Away] Downloading files from File-AwayThom, I have an update on this issue for you. I finally got round to rebuilding the website I had a multiple download problem with, installing the Fileaway plugin, files and WP pages to start. Everything worked fine (as expected) so I started to install more plugins and rebuild pages, checking Fileaway was still working every so often as I went.
After all the plugins were reinstalled (except Speed Booster Pack) and a few pages were added, Fileaway began triggering multiple downloads again. Thinking back to the last plugins installed, I found that disabling ‘WP Slimstat’ resolved the problem so there must be some sort of conflict with that particular plugin?

In reply to: [File Away] Downloading files from File-AwayThanks Thom, that is helpful. The plugin in question is something called “Speed Booster Pack” which allows the switching of JS from the header to the footer. Luckily, it has an exclusions section so I have added the FileAway JS scripts to the list and it works as it should again.
My new problem is that the paths to the JS files are now displayed at the top of every page (see http://hfc.org.uk) but that is an issue with the Speed Booster plugin, not File Away.
Many thanks for your help, it has resolved the duplicate downloads problem. I’ve just got to work out how to stop it displaying the paths at the top of the page.
