I noticed this too.
@calumallison To clarify, if I turn the “Anyone can register” option OFF, the option to register as a new user from wp-login.php disappears (as you’d expect).
My question really is why wp-login.php is still accessible? I want to use the much more elegant and stylish UM login page. Is there a way to default to this (without using a security or 3rd party plugin) like it used to?
@calumallison IF I’ve understood you correctly, what you are saying is that if I register via WP it should efault to the UM registration page?
I’ve just re-enabled the “Anyone can register” option in Settings > General, logged out, gone back to the wp-login page and clicked “Register”. IT then asked me for a username and password and sent me an e-mail to create a password. I did this and it created a new WP user with the role of “Subscriber”. This user was prevented from accessing the restricted areas within my UM website but I was able to go to mydomain/login and access a UM profile for the user too.
My view is that both the login and registration pages should default to the UM versions to keep things secure and to take advantage of the elegant styling these pages have in UM. This is how it used to work and I thought it worked very well.
Either that or I have misunderstood something?
A bit of an update on this issue.
I saw that UM v2.0.5 was available so I decided to clone my live v1.3.88 website to a localhost version and re-run the upgrade. So far, it is looking good. Menus work fine, profiles are all available including the account page options.
One small but important issue – when I Edit or View User Profiles, all the text appears as white text on a white background (labels and user data). It’s all there but it can’t be seen.
This worked for me too. Not sure what Role Priorities are for though!

I’ve got a similar problem. I can access the Member Directory and see all my users listed and I can search the Member Directory. However, if I try to either view a profile or view/edit my own profile, I get a ‘Sorry, that page cannot be found’ error.
I’ve created a context sensitive menu that offers logged in members options to ‘View Profile’ or ‘Edit Profile’ (referring to their own profile information in both cases). They worked in v1.3.88 but not in v2.0.4. Have the links changed to enable this functionality?
I have assigned Priorities to the roles in my setup and it has resolved the issue. I’ve looked in the online documentation but I can’t find a reference to what this is actually for – does anyone know?
@grueneraider Thank you!
A quick update on this issue. I have just installed v2.0.9 of the Web 2.0 Directory plugin and it appears to have resolved the problem I was experiencing with Google Maps not displaying.
I think the user should be notified when their password changes (that makes sense) but there should be two different e-mail templates for this as the wording needs to be different depending on whether they have changed it or the admin has changed it.
I’ve just created a test account on my website with UM 1.3.88 installed. If I change a password through the Admin panel whilst logged in as an Admin, the changed password e-mail goes to just the Admin e-mail address. However, if I use the ‘Change Password’ option in UM’s user profile settings through the front end, the user gets the changed password e-mail as you would expect.
I can see the logic here – if an Admin changes a password, e-mailing the user may cause some confusion, especially if they have not requested or made the change.
Is this how it is intended to work?
Hi,
This is the same problem I reported here earlier today:

In reply to: [Quick Event Manager] Errors following upgrade to 8.4.6I just installed the QEM update you posted above and it seems to have solved the problem. No more errors and I’m running v8.4.6!
Excellent! Thank you for your help.

In reply to: [Quick Event Manager] Errors following upgrade to 8.4.6I also had debugging disabled and I was logged out when I first saw the error. I’ve since checked a second website I use QEM on and that has the same problem. The second website uses a different membership access system and a different theme too.
I’ve rolled both my websites back to v8.4.5.

In reply to: [Quick Event Manager] Errors following upgrade to 8.4.6I reverted mine back to v8.4.5 using last night’s backup. Won’t be upgrading until I know what has caused this to happen.
Tried disabling my other plugins in case it was a conflict issue but that didn’t seem to make any difference, the errors still appeared.
