A late “resolved” message from me.

I can’t say what exactly was wrong, but the issue was caused by an broken or something wrong database dump. I don’t know what exactly was wrong, but after importing an older dump everything was fine.

The client absolutly wanted to try “his” hosting provider and then another he prefered to our suggestion. So he had 2 migrations during the development (by himself) before he followed our suggestion.

I think that was the strangest issue I had so far.
I really would love to know what exactly went wrong.

It’s not the server and it’s not caching.

I installed a fresh WooCommerce without anything else on the same server and this works.
    But not the migrated installation.

No matter where I put the migrated installation (on my own server, on another server, on webspace from some webhoster), it doesn’t work.
    Only at the dev enviroment.

    But why?

    Ok, I tried something different.
I installed the twentysixteen theme and deactivated Ajax at all.
The problem remains. The message after adding an item to the cart says it’s added, but if I call the cart page it’s not there.
And if I try to remove the one and only item from the cart it doesn’t work.

So it’s not Ajax and not my Code and not my theme.

In the moment I’m absolutely clueless where to start debugging this.
It’s not my first WooCommerce shop, but I never experienced something similar before.

Is there something the shop could “remember” from the dev enviroment?

It worked for you? What have you tried?
    Don’t let it trick you.
You can put ONE item in the cart. This works. But after that nothing changes anymore.
You can’t put another item in the cart and you can’t remove the first from the cart.
And to make it more weird: if you try to put another item in the cart, the popup says it worked, but neither the number at the cart icon nor the cart are updated correctly.

And about server side caching: The weird thing is, on one server it works and on 2 other servers it doesn’t. So I have 3 enviroments and it works only on one of them. And I can’t see relevant differences at the server configurations.

Oooh, the forum messed around with my link to the shop. 😀
    Here it is again:
    Link to shop

The function in your link seems to make the same as the function in my functions.php, which uses the filter.
My other code is for updating the off-canvas-cart that’s on every page.

But neither the off-canvas-cart nor the item number at the cart icon show changes (after the migration).
I’m somewhat irritated by the fact that it works on the development Server, but not after the migration.
I will try the storefront theme and then we will see.
