    Ok,

I figured out that the emulator on Chrome does not work unless you are viewing the same website in Internet Explorer using Compatability mode. Why bother with the Chrome IE Tab if you are forced to use IE at the same time? What a waste of time that was.

So the issue persisted and I needed to get this work off my desk so I adjusted the css> ei.css file in the 2012 folder. I will just need to remember to re-upload the altered css every time I update the 2012 theme. What a headache.

If someone has a better solution to this without all the headache, please let me know. For some reason the conditional statement never worked.

Also it worked on FF (MAC) but not on the other browsers. Seems some more beta testing would be in order.

I ran a simple test using the WP Super Cache in another website. After rearranging the widgets I found that they did in fact trigger a rebuilding of the cache with each movement. I guess at some point in the last 2 years either the plugin’s author fixed something or the developers at WordPress made an alteration that allowed it to work. Now I tried it with the simple stuff that is included with the 2012 theme, and perhaps your widget is more complex then that, but someone made it work.

Yes I clear the cache on all the browsers I check on, as stated above.

I deactivated WP Super Cache but only FF (MAC) seemed to recognize that. I removed it completely and now the widget is not showing up. Is this a conflict between you and WP Super Cache? Do I need to use a different caching plug in?

When I moved other widgets around and made other alterations the page showed the changes. Is their something about your plugin that conflicts?

Nope, after I deactivated the WP Super Cache the widget still comes up in Safari (MAC), Chrome (MAC/PC), IE and FF (PC), but not FF (MAC).

I am using WP Super Cache, but I have not configured anything in it yet. I will deactivate and recheck.

I have removed the GC widget from the sidebar yet it still appears on Google Chrome (mac) and Safari (mac), yet not in Firefox (mac). Just check FF, IE, Chrome on PC and they all show the GQ widget that was removed.

This issue seems to figure in whenever you make an alteration to the widget’s location in the dashboard.

I had to position the widget in a certain location to get it to work. Now when I remove it from the sidebar or move it to another location within the sidebar the changes will not update. I have checked using 2 computers, both with caches disabled. Other widgets can be moved around and changes made yet the GC widget does not go away when archived.

When it is in a position closer to the bottom of the stack in the sidebar rather than the top it does not always show up on the page. Almost like the CSS for it is set to position: absolute; without the parent object being properly positioned.

The only browser that seems to handle the changes is Firefox on the Mac. That is why I suspect this is a browser compatibility issue and not a problem with any particular browser that is viewing the site.

If it would help for you to diagnose the issue I can set up a temporary user profile so you can get in there and make the changes I am to see the problems. I would just need the client’s permission first.
