I would also like to see this feature, where you can assign existing images into a gallery rather than re-uploading them.
Ideally, I would like it that the images don’t need to be copied into individual gallery directories, so NextGEN can maintain ‘virtual’ galleries, and save a little disk space and reduce WP clutter…..

It claims it wants 755 (rwxrw-rw-) but doesn’t seem to work unless we set 777 (rwxrwxrwx) ?
In our environment, the plugins directories are not generally writable for security reasons, instead we encourage use of the wp uploads path, but we can live with exceptions for plugin cache directories, if there is no other way to do it. But could using an uploads path be looked into, maybe as an option (i.e. let us SET where the cache directory lives) ?
Related to this cache issue, could you please check your code for clearing cache files, seems line #608 should have
($filesInDir)not($fileInDir)? That way we would be able to clear caches and maybe try looking at your plugin again.Our client wants it to work quite urgently.

The “redeclare” means that some other plugin you are using also uses GeoIP code generally, and that function in particular.
Disable other plugins that may be using some form of geo-location and this plugin will activate.
To the authors of all these geo-location/geo-targeting plugins, you should always check if functions are defined and not assume your plugin will be used in isolation.
