Jack,
I understand that and no worries. As you know, I got the Post Update notification working by using “shortcode” inserts into the “message body” section and wanted to make sure the other did not get lost in the fray. Thanks again, great PI (left a review) and I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.Sounds good – What did you think about the post above this one re: dealing with the message body… Thanks again
Jack – this is baffling if not bizarre – look at the information I posted above (I just looked at it), and in particular, click on the link – Edit Post Link: Edit. It takes you to – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/edit_post-capability/. ?????
How did that link to that page? I did not put it there and the information from the previous post was copied/pasted directly from our BNWF “message body” section. And it does not do that on my site. Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing from you.

New Post Published: this is in the m.body – There is a new post. (the selection in notification settings is New Post Published) (this never worked until we put in the shortcode…)never used shortcode and has worked just fine – no shortcode ever)

Post Updated: this is in the m.body –“We are providing you some information on a modified or updated thread for you:
– Post Name: [post_name] was modified or updated @ [post_modified]. An excerpt of the content is in included for your convenience (please take appropriate security steps)
– Post Excerpt: [post_excerpt]

Thanks again,”
(the selection in notification settings is Post Updated) (this never worked until we put in the shortcode…)
Thanks again
True – I look forward to hearing about what you find in connection with the difference in having to use short-code in one instance (with a notification for Update to Post – had to use short-code to make it) and not having to use it in another instance (with a notification for New Post – did not have to use short-code to make it work) on the same site. I assume that this is not the way you intended BNWF to work. I will keeping working on it too and update as appropriate. Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing from you.
No – nothing has ever been received for the BNWF notification setup for Updated Post on the BNWF admin/create page for BNWF. This changed last night when we added some shortcode to the Message Body section in same Updated Post page in BNWF.
The BNWF e-mail notification on the same site that was setup for a New Post being created has always sent e-mail notifications when a new post was created (no shortcode has ever been used with this notification)
We have never used shortcode until last night (and only with the BNWF created for Updated Post).
Summary (all on same site)
-New Post BNWF notification – always worked no shortcode ever used/inserted
-Updated Post BNWF notification – has never worked until we added/inserted shortcode. Thanks again for all of your help.
Jack – an update (just got back to this and have not run through the above) but, I just added a short-code in the “message body” section of the existing “post updated” notification and it started to work. I do not have to do that for the notification for “new post” (no shortcode pasted in the “message body” section of the the new post notification). Thoughts? Thanks again for your help.
Jack,
I will do that and get back to you. Just so I am clear – re: on the same site:-BNWF is sending notifications (e-mails) for a “new post”
-BNWF is not sending notification (e-mails) when an existing post is updated (e.g., adding new test to the post)
There still could be a conflict with another plugin? Thanks again for all of your help.
Ok – just so I am clear, BNFW may work for site A that has one notification type (e.g., new post put on a site – notification “new post” triggered and e-mail sent) but may not work for same site A that has another (or second) notification type (e.g., update has been completed to a existing post (update notification) – e.g., a new word is put on the page/post)? Thanks again for all of your help.
default post type. yes – it is wp easy smtp. The e-mail notifications are working when there is a new post. thanks again for all of your help.

And I am using the latest version of wp. Thanks again
Jack – was that what you were looking for? Let me know if I need to supplement. Thanks again.
Thanks for getting back to me – in this instance, I am logged in to the site (admin), go to the page, click edit, add some new text to the post, click update…
